Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a common circulatory condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs — most often the legs. PAD is a sign of widespread arterial disease and significantly increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Symptoms

  • Leg pain, cramping, or fatigue when walking (claudication)
  • Pain at rest in the feet or toes
  • Non-healing wounds or sores on the legs or feet
  • Cold or discolored legs or feet
  • Gangrene in severe cases

Treatment Options at Dr. Jaber's Practice

  • Atherectomy — minimally invasive removal of plaque from arteries
  • Angioplasty (PTA) — balloon dilation to open narrowed arteries
  • Stenting — placement of a mesh tube to keep the artery open
  • IVL / Shockwave therapy for calcified vessels
  • Bypass surgery and redo bypass procedures
  • Limb salvage surgery to prevent amputation
  • Wound care for chronic vascular ulcers

Dr. Jaber selects the most appropriate approach — minimally invasive or open — based on what is safest and most effective for each individual patient.
